Oshrit Sherman: Building Confidence Through Business and Fashion

Oshrit Sherman is a self-made entrepreneur and the founder of a woman-owned construction compliance firm working closely with the New York City Department of Buildings. She built her business from the ground up through expertise, trust, and strong client relationships that mean everything to her. Known for her precision, credibility, and bold sense of fashion, Oshrit brings confidence and individuality into a traditionally male-dominated industry. Driven, authentic, and always reaching higher, she is making a powerful and lasting mark on New York City’s construction world, on her own terms.

You’re known as a businesswoman first. When did fashion stop being a hobby and start becoming part of your identity?

Fashion stopped being a hobby the moment I realized it was part of how I lead.

As a woman-owned business in construction and compliance within New York City, showing up matters. Whether I’m on a job site, inside a government agency, or walking into a high-level business meeting, being presentable with a touch of fierce fashion is intentional. It’s not about trends; it’s about authority.

Confidence builds trust. When you trust yourself, people feel it. What I wear is an extension of that confidence; it sharpens my presence, commands respect, and allows me to show up fully prepared to deliver my best. Fashion became part of my identity when I understood it wasn’t decoration; it was alignment.

How would you define your style in three words?

Every day, I bring a different energy. Some days I’m channeling old-money elegance and glamour; other days it’s preppy and unapologetically professional. I also love mixing in streetwear, jeans, sneakers, athletic fits, always on trend and effortless. No matter the look, I incorporate something subtly sexy while staying ladylike, classy, and very feminine.

It’s a style that commands respect while maintaining softness, and never blends into the background.

Is your wardrobe a reflection of who you are, or who you’re becoming?

Absolutely. The clothes I choose and how I present myself the moment I leave my house reflect both who I am and who I’m becoming. Over the last year, I’ve intentionally evolved my fashion sense, at work and in my personal life, to align with my growth. My wardrobe has become a tool for shaping my identity, reinforcing my confidence, and visually expressing the woman and professional I continue to step into.

How do you introduce yourself today: entrepreneur, creative, or future fashion icon?

I introduce myself first as an entrepreneur, building my own business, being different, and striving to be the best in construction compliance. Ite is the foundation of who I am. I’m always pushing toward bigger and better things; there’s never a dull moment, and I’m constantly reaching for the stars.

At the same time, I see myself as a fashion icon in the making: a business owner who’s not only building a company but also making a bold mark on the construction world, on my own terms.

How do you want people to feel when they see your photos or appearances?

I want people to pause and ask, “Who’s that woman?”

I want them to feel the realness, to see authenticity, confidence, and a woman who fully embraces her beauty without apology. More than anything, I want my presence to make people feel inspired, like anything is possible, and to remind them to believe in themselves and their own potential.

What does success look like when money is no longer the primary metric?

Impact and relationships, not dollars, measure success. Money was never the main factor in building my business. Making sure my clients are genuinely happy is the greatest compliment and the strongest form of referral.

When one client is satisfied, it creates a natural stream of many more. That’s exactly how my business started, through trust, word of mouth, and clients referring one another. Today, it continues to grow organically the same way. Money comes, and money goes, but the people you build genuine relationships with and the trust you earn last forever.
