Nesara Bay City Unveils Major Expansion as Construction Recommencement Nears
South Lombok development plans major land acquisitions, modular construction and partnerships with at least 10 selected developers
SOUTH LOMBOK, INDONESIA — Nesara Bay City is preparing for a major expansion, with plans to acquire two strategic parcels of land while moving closer to recommencing construction on its ambitious coastal city development in South Lombok.
The proposed acquisitions include approximately nine hectares of hinterland within the broader Nesara Bay City precinct and a second strategic parcel of up to five hectares extending towards the harbour at the rear of the development. The final size of the harbour parcel remains subject to survey and acquisition arrangements.
The expansion builds on approximately 18.5 hectares secured during 2025, together with the original land acquired when Nesara Bay City was first announced around 18 months ago.
The additional land would substantially increase the scale and development potential of the project, creating space for more residential, hospitality, commercial and community facilities while strengthening the city’s connection to the surrounding harbour and hinterland.
Nesara Bay City is also preparing to open the project to at least 10 selected developers. These development partners will be invited to contribute individual residential, tourism and commercial projects within the city while working within its approved master plan and broader design vision.
The multi-developer approach is intended to accelerate construction, introduce greater architectural variety and allow experienced developers to participate in one of South Lombok’s emerging large-scale property destinations.
Modular construction to accelerate delivery
Up to one-third of the buildings planned for Nesara Bay City are expected to use prefabricated or modular construction methods.
Depending on their design and site requirements, these buildings can be manufactured and shipped within approximately 30 to 90 days before being installed on-site in under 60 days.
The strategy could allow homes, villas, accommodation and selected commercial buildings to be delivered considerably faster than through conventional construction alone, helping Nesara Bay City respond to growing demand from prospective residents and buyers.
The accelerated construction program is being considered in response to demand from people interested in relocating to the city, including prospective residents already on its waiting list. Buyers are also waiting for the release of additional properties once the final permits and master plan approvals are secured.
Final master plan and permitting approvals are presently expected during the final quarter of 2026. Subject to those approvals, Nesara Bay City is positioning itself to recommence construction and move into a significantly larger development phase.
A new coastal destination for South Lombok
Nesara Bay City has been conceived as more than a standalone resort or residential estate. Its longer-term vision is to create an integrated coastal community combining residences, villas, hotels, resorts, hospitality venues, shops, recreation, wellness facilities and essential community infrastructure.
The project is expected to benefit from South Lombok’s expanding international profile, improving infrastructure and increasing interest from buyers seeking alternatives to Bali’s more established and heavily developed property markets.
Its planned expansion into the hinterland and towards the harbour could also create new opportunities for nature-based accommodation, hillside residences, waterfront facilities and tourism-related businesses.
With additional land under negotiation, construction preparing to recommence and outside developers set to be invited into the project, Nesara Bay City is entering what could become its most important growth phase to date.
Further information and future project announcements will be published at NesaraBayCity.com.
