In a world obsessed with speed and trends, HINKELMAN stands for something deeper — for emotion, craftsmanship, and the power of subtle beauty. We sat down with Margaryta Hinkelman, the founder and creative mind behind the brand, to talk about timeless design, conscious luxury, and the art of embracing feminine power.
Margaryta, the HINKELMAN basque belt has already become a recognizable piece — minimal, architectural, and incredibly feminine. How did the idea for the brand begin?
Margaryta Hinkelman: It started with a feeling rather than a plan. I wanted to create something that would allow a woman to see herself differently — to feel her own power without the need to shout about it. The basque belt became that medium. It shapes the silhouette, yes, but it also shapes a mood — confidence, elegance, calm strength.
You describe your pieces as “not just accessories, but philosophy.” What does that mean to you?
Margaryta Hinkelman: For me, HINKELMAN is not about decoration — it’s about self-expression. Fashion often tells us what to wear, but I wanted to create something that listens to the woman instead. The basque doesn’t overpower; it reveals. It highlights individuality. When a woman wears it, she doesn’t become someone else — she becomes more of herself.
What kind of woman do you imagine wearing HINKELMAN?
Margaryta Hinkelman: She’s someone who appreciates details — the invisible kind. She loves silence as much as she loves presence. She’s self-aware, confident, and doesn’t need validation from trends. For her, true luxury is about feeling, not showing. She can wear a simple shirt, but when she adds the basque, it becomes a statement — subtle, yet undeniable.
Tell us about the craftsmanship behind your designs. They seem simple at first glance, but the construction looks incredibly precise.
Margaryta Hinkelman: That’s the paradox I love — when something looks effortless but takes hours of work to perfect. Each basque goes through a meticulous process. I work closely with artisans who understand that precision is emotional. Every stitch, every curve matters. The design has to feel natural, as if it was meant to belong to the body from the beginning.
HINKELMAN aligns strongly with the conscious luxury movement. How do you interpret “conscious” in your creative process?

Margaryta Hinkelman: Conscious means intentional. It means asking “why” before “how.” Why do we create another piece? What value does it bring to a woman’s life? I don’t want to produce endlessly — I want to create meaningfully. The basque belt is something that can live in a wardrobe for years, even decades. It’s timeless by design and by emotion.
The brand often speaks about power — but in a very feminine, almost poetic way. How do you define feminine power today?
Margaryta Hinkelman: Feminine power is not about control. It’s about presence. It’s the strength to stay soft in a hard world, to lead with intuition, to express without fear. I think beauty and power are not opposites — they’re reflections of the same essence. The HINKELMAN basque is a metaphor for that: structured, yet gentle.
You work with women who choose individuality over trends. How do you see HINKELMAN evolving in the future?
Margaryta Hinkelman: I see it as a growing conversation — not a collection. I want HINKELMAN to become part of women’s stories around the world. To be worn not just for occasions, but for moments that matter. Each piece carries energy — of creation, intention, confidence. My dream is for every woman who wears it to feel a quiet “yes” inside herself.
Finally, if HINKELMAN could be described in one sentence, what would it be?
Margaryta Hinkelman: A reminder that elegance is power — and that power can be soft.
HINKELMAN is more than a brand — it’s a movement toward conscious beauty, timeless design, and the celebration of the modern muse. Each piece is created not to follow fashion, but to redefine it — through emotion, craftsmanship, and the art of being effortlessly powerful.
