Before Bamo Karem had a clothing brand to help build or a content platform to develop, he had a phone and a habit of noticing things worth photographing. Street scenes and everyday surroundings gave him somewhere to begin. A camera followed, along with the question of how seriously he could pursue the interest. Today, his work spans photography, digital storytelling through BamCamTV, and Dicey Apparel, the clothing brand he co-founded with three partners. Each pursuit has given him another way to put his curiosity to work.
When Creativity Meets the Invoice
As Bamo began pursuing paid assignments, finding steady clients proved challenging. He recalls building his portfolio through work that was sometimes unpaid or poorly compensated. Dealing with clients who placed limited value on creative services also brought him face to face with the difficulties of earning through photography.
Finding confidence in his photography was one step. Carrying that confidence into a conversation about payment was another. Bamo had to calculate his fees, describe what clients could expect, and establish the terms of each assignment. Those exchanges taught him how to put his professional judgment into words and make the effort behind his work understood.
A Wider Frame for His Work
Bamo’s curiosity has taken his camera from portraits and fashion to cars, landscapes, and the movement of city streets. Exploring different subjects gave him room to develop his interests, while opportunities in media and entertainment introduced him to video and music video productions. His creative work was beginning to offer several possible directions.
Seeing his photography published in a Nike magazine earned a place in Bamo’s own collection of memorable moments. Conversations with publications including MemphisVoyager, CanvasRebel, and Bold Journey add the details a photograph cannot hold, exploring what it has taken to put a price on his skills, pursue opportunities, and build a working life around his interests.
Bringing His Perspective to BamCamTV
Through BamCamTV, Bamo turns his interests into stories his audience can follow. He shares travel experiences, explores fashion and automotive culture, and offers glimpses into luxury experiences and current projects. The platform gives these different pursuits a common thread: his curiosity about what each has to offer.
Content creation has helped him develop storytelling, branding, and communication skills. It also suits his preference for participating in life firsthand. “I believe there’s a certain value in experiencing life firsthand rather than just watching it pass by,” he says. Travel and new encounters provide experiences to enjoy, then material to interpret through his own creative perspective.
Taking a Shared Chance on Dicey
Fashion became another avenue for that perspective through Dicey, which Bamo built alongside three partners. Four minds brought different ideas to the table, with a shared appetite for making something of their own. They envisioned clothing that would give their belief in individuality, confidence, and taking chances a form people could wear.
For Bamo, that message has roots in his own experience of taking photography seriously. In his earlier published interview, he connects the inspiration for Dicey with taking a chance on the camera. That personal connection gives the brand’s name context: risk was already part of his working life before it became part of the clothing venture.

Giving the Idea a Visual Identity
Bamo describes Dicey’s intended aesthetic as modern streetwear with clean designs and understated luxury influences. Hats, shirts, hoodies, and other everyday essentials form the product direction he has outlined for the brand. Versatility and comfort are priorities, alongside details intended to give the pieces an identity of their own.
He envisions pieces that balance simplicity with quality and feel approachable enough for everyday wear. An outfit can have something to say without requesting a microphone. Alongside his three partners, Bamo is working to establish a shared identity that gives their different perspectives a coherent expression.
Designing for a Future Still Unwritten
The future Bamo imagines for Dicey begins with decisions close at hand: how the brand presents itself, what its collections express, and how it reaches people online. He and his partners also hope to explore collaborations and exclusive releases, opening their shared vision to fresh creative possibilities. Each step offers a chance to give the business a more distinct identity.
International recognition sits within his longer view, alongside a place for Dicey in fashion and culture. The scale of that ambition leaves plenty to learn. “One thing I’ve learned is that you don’t have to have everything figured out to start building something meaningful,” he says. He is willing to enter that unfinished future and take responsibility for helping shape it.
Building a Life He Recognizes
For Bamo Karem, the direction ahead grows from what he has already been willing to try. A camera became an entry into professional creativity. BamCamTV opened space for his interests and perspective, and Dicey gave shared ambition a business to build. Each experience has made his ambitions more tangible and the responsibilities clearer. Moving forward means putting that understanding to work, making decisions that bring his aspirations within reach.
