North Bali Airport Expansion Could Open the Door to a New Era of Investment, With LUX Property Group Eyeing Future Mini Cities

Bali’s long-term infrastructure expansion continues to gather momentum, with the Indonesian Government progressing plans to expand Lt. Col. Wisnu Airfield in Buleleng into a dedicated aviation hub serving northern Bali.
Rather than becoming Bali’s second major international airport, the expanded facility is expected to primarily accommodate private jets, charter aircraft, emergency services, logistics operations, and selected regional flights. The project is designed to improve connectivity while supporting economic development across North Bali.
For investors, this could prove to be one of the most significant infrastructure developments on the island over the coming decade.
Private aviation continues to experience strong growth throughout Asia as entrepreneurs, executives, and high-net-worth travellers increasingly seek flexible travel options beyond traditional commercial airports. Although the expanded Lt. Col. Wisnu Airfield is not expected to replace Ngurah Rai International Airport as Bali’s primary international gateway, many industry observers believe it could become an important regional aviation hub supporting private aviation, business travel, tourism, and regional connectivity.
As with all infrastructure projects, timelines and final scope remain subject to government planning and implementation.
