In the Era of Noise, Authority Is Earned Through Books: Insights from Wilbert Wynnberg on Why Every Expert Needs to Think Like an Author

Today’s world is one where short-form content and viral videos make the headlines. However, Wilbert Wynnberg suggests writing books may be a valuable route for content creators to boost their following on digital platforms and in the real world.

The AuthorRise.ai founder explains his belief with this perspective: “In this economy, visibility is everywhere. But credibility? That’s rare. A book can signal you’ve done your work. It can say you’re not just playing the game, but you’ve gained significant expertise.”

Wynnberg’s belief in how books could skyrocket a person’s brand isn’t a mere theory. It’s based on his experience. In 2017, he was involved in a skydiving accident that forced him to think about the course of his life. This reflection led him to write Think Act Prosper, a book that detailed the lessons he’d learned regarding business, mindset shifts, and resilience.

Wynnberg did not have a large following before he published his book. But once he did, his life changed significantly. It resulted in media interviews, speaking engagements, and consulting opportunities. According to him, “I didn’t have a big following. But I had a book. And the book opened doors.”

As Wynnberg became more well-known, he got requests from upcoming authors who sought insights on how to turn their ideas into published books. He shared advice on the steps they could take to get their stories out.

With more people seeking Wynnberg’s expertise in the publishing sector, he launched a boutique publishing company. Over the next few years, he and his team helped people from different walks of life expand their ideas into published books.

While Wynnberg’s company grew, he noticed a persistent issue. He realized that many authors never got their ideas out due to the complicated publishing process. From writing and editing to formatting and distribution, the steps involved felt overwhelming to many.

The challenges of publishing led Wynnberg to set up AuthorRise. This AI-backed platform aims to provide coaches, consultants, educators, and innovators with the tools they need to transform their ideas into books available in bookstores.

The system doesn’t just deliver manuscripts based on prompts. Rather, it acts as a one-stop shop for handling the technical and logistical areas of publishing. This structure helps authors focus on the message they want to pass to their broader audience.

Wynnberg acknowledges that while AuthorRise remains in the thick of things, book creation still demands dedication and purpose. In his words, “Publishing a book is no longer reserved for the elite. It’s for the committed. The people who are ready to put in the time to create something meaningful now have the tools to do it without unnecessary barriers.”

Although people gravitate towards short and viral content in today’s world, Wynnberg argues that books remain relevant. According to him, “Social media gives you moments. A book gives you permanence. It positions you not just as someone who has opinions, but as someone who has organized those opinions into a coherent, lasting solution.”

With books, creators can build a legacy that outlasts social media algorithms. Unlike short-form videos that stay trendy for a while, the relevance of books can span decades.

Wynnberg believes that “Everywhere in the world, there are stories worth sharing. What’s lacking isn’t wisdom. It’s access.” As such, his goal with AuthorRise is to support one million authors in releasing non-fiction books.

Wilbert Wynnberg didn’t let his skydiving accident derail his life. Instead, he used the incident as fuel to grow a career that has birthed a tool delivering value worldwide. For him, the surest route for content-creating experts to make an impact and leave a lasting legacy is clear: Create a book!
