I’m Angelika, founder of Just_beauty_nyc, a professional makeup artist based in New York City, with over 11 years of experience in the beauty industry. From the very beginning of my career, I knew that makeup was not just a job but a passion, a form of art, and a way to help people feel confident, beautiful, and empowered. Living and working in New York has given me the incredible opportunity to immerse myself in a city that thrives on creativity, fashion, and diversity, which has greatly shaped me as an artist.
Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work on some truly iconic projects. I’ve had the honor of doing makeup for the Met Gala, where every detail matters and every look has to be flawless. I’ve also collaborated with prestigious publications such as Vogue, creating modern, clean, and editorial looks that photograph beautifully. Each project has taught me something new, challenged me creatively, and strengthened my skills in both precision and artistic expression. Working in such high-profile environments requires attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to adapt to any situation – skills I have honed over the years.
In 2025, I reached another milestone thanks to the talented photographer Alex Dani, who invited me to work at Fashion Week. The experience was incredible, being part of a high-energy, high-profile environment, working alongside models who bring each designer’s vision to life, and collaborating with a remarkable team of stylists and creatives. One of my favorite moments from Fashion Week was working with a truly stunning model whose energy, professionalism, and charisma made my job even more enjoyable. I love helping someone feel confident, radiant, and ready to shine on the runway or in front of the camera. That transformation, seeing a person step into their power through makeup, is what drives my passion every day.
I’m also thrilled to share that my work will be featured in an upcoming issue of Elle magazine. Having my art published in such a respected outlet is a dream come true and a testament to the value of hard work, dedication, and passion. Moments like these remind me why I love what I do, even when it isn’t always easy. Makeup artistry requires long hours, precision, and constant learning, but the fulfillment that comes from creating beauty, transforming someone’s look, and giving them confidence makes all the challenges worth it.
My journey hasn’t been without challenges, but every obstacle has strengthened my resolve to become not just a talented makeup artist but a truly renowned and influential one. I invest time every day in improving my craft, staying updated on the latest techniques and trends, and expanding my professional network.
